INDIVIDUAL
THERAPY
-
The relationship between the client and therapist is everything. That’s because the power of therapy lies in the fact that it's a dynamic conversation between two people.
As your therapist, one of my goals is to draw out your personal story and listen carefully to all of the issues, concerns, and circumstances you're dealing with. But I'm not just an empathic ear. After all, you could vent with a friend, who wouldn't charge you for the favor!
Good listening is just one part of the process of individual therapy. From there, I will help you identify your strengths where you can't see them, challenge the subconscious beliefs that have been holding you back, and guide you to start planning the kind of life that you want to live.
Honesty and trust will be critical to our relationship. I can promise that I will never judge you, or make assumptions about who you are, or coerce you into any particular agenda.
Instead, I'll give you the ideal combination of support, feedback, and accountability to help you grow into the person you want to become, and to achieve the life you want to live.
-
I like an individual therapy session to feel as natural as a casual, friendly conversation. Not because that’s what’s most comfortable (which it is!), but because I want you to feel relaxed enough to speak freely and honestly about whatever needs to be talked through, on that particular day.
I never come into a session with my own agenda of recovery that I’m trying to force-feed you into compliance with. Instead, my job is to provide a wide open space of acceptance for you.
I can promise you that I will listen closely, and without judgment, so I can understand your history, your circumstances, your challenges, and your goals.
Don’t worry about “rambling” or “not making sense!” My skill as a therapist lies in helping you find the meaning and make necessary connections in your own story — so you can ultimately change that story into a life you truly love.
To that end, I will ask the kinds of questions and offer the kind of feedback that’s intended to help you believe in yourself wherever you’ve lost confidence; to point out your blind spots where you can’t see them; and to remind you of the rewards and goals you’ve identified are worth overcoming challenges and stepping out of your comfort zone for.

GROUP
THERAPY
-
The good news is that you are not your addiction. But in order to move beyond it, you do need regular support from the kinds of people who truly get it.
Sure, you can try to get sober on your own. But the problem with doing it alone is that any changes you make will only be temporary… because at the end of the day, you’ll still be alone in your own head.
Real recovery means building trust and connection with other people. Whether we like it or not, being human means getting the support and affirmation of others. Not only does that feel good and serve as protection against addictive behavior, it helps us feel good about ourselves.
Shame, self-doubt, and resentment about your past, present, or future will poison your relationships, inhibit your confidence to succeed, and foster maddening cycles of self-sabotage.
I'm willing to bet that your biggest challenge in recovery won't be staying sober. It'll be learning to love yourself unconditionally.
To that end, group therapy will help you break free from the negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that hold you back from loving yourself and your life.
Our focus in group is discovering a very real, very positive sense of identity, without the burden of fear and shame.

Life After Sobriety is an open and ongoing therapeutic process group for adults in recovery from addictive behaviors. We started in 2020 and have been meeting continuously every Thursday since then. We have members with 7+ years of sobriety down to 7 days, with a whole gamut of addictive behaviors between us!
The group’s focus is on building trust, connecting with emotional support, and discovering and expressing your true self.
Most importantly, we know how to have fun! There are always snacks, pets, and lots of laughs.

The Create Your True Self ❤️ Group is part art therapy... part meditation... part independent work... part collaboration... and always encouraging!
This is a fun, inclusive and accepting group that gives you the time and space to experiment, get messy, and identify the feelings you want to experience, in every dimension of who you are.
This is also a purpose-driven group that produces a monthly, anonymous publication, “Self-Service: The Magazine for People Who Do What They Love."
We are always seeking creative contributions of art, writing, information, and design. Ours is a fun and experimental magazine that's always a reflection of the True Love inside its creators’ True Selves. ❤️

How do I know if group therapy is right for me?
If you’re struggling with trust issues (either with yourself or others); if you’re suffering from low self-esteem; if you’re in need of positive, sober social support; or if you’re trying to find your voice and your purpose… then group therapy will be perfect for you!
All you need to bring is your honesty, your desire for change, and your open-mindedness to enter a process of recovery with other like-minded individuals — the kinds of people who also want to follow a positive direction for their lives.
How much does group therapy cost? The Life After Sobriety group is $150 per month, which includes all 4 or 5 groups in a month. The Create Your True Self ❤️ Group is $25 per group.
When do the groups meet?
Life After Sobriety meets every Thursday at our office in Granger from 5:30-7:00pm. The Create Your True Self ❤️ Group meets every Sunday, also at our office in Granger, from 1:30-2:30pm.
What if I see someone I know in the group?
Our groups are meant to be a safe and anonymous space for clients to learn about themselves and grow, but occasionally we do have a situation where people know each other from their outside lives. All group clients sign confidentiality agreements that bind them to protecting their own and others’ anonymity. Our expectation is that we can appreciate the similarities between all our members, instead of focusing on negative comparisons and mistrust.
How do I get started with group therapy?
Use the contact form below to indicate your interest. I will get in touch with you to answer any questions, and to send you a link to my client portal, where you can complete my intake forms and request an initial session day and time that works for you. We will discuss group options and I can get to know you at that initial individual session.
CREATIVE
THERAPY
-
As humans, we are all essentially creative beings. I believe that depression results from frustrated creative energy; anxiety results from fearful creative energy; and addiction is destructively misdirected creative energy!
The highest and best use of creativity is to discover who we really are, and what we really want, through the free expression of authentic thoughts, feelings, and ideas — no matter how “positive” or “negative” those seem to be.
Our Create Your True Self ❤️ Group is a safe and relaxed atmosphere in which to begin expressing creative feelings and instincts. At your disposal are a variety of mediums to play around and experiment with — everything from paint, pens, crayons, pastels, collage, Rubik’s cubing, puzzles, creative writing… you name it!
The biggest gift to be gained from diving into creativity is finding your authentic voice. From there, you can use the power of your unique voice as a force for good — in your relationships, in your sense of purpose, and in the service of your own happiness and peace of mind.

As of spring 2025, our group therapy program is launching a free and anonymous virtual magazine called “Self-Service: The Magazine for People Who Do What They Love.”
And it’s filled with… you guessed it… the kinds of art, stories, interviews and ideas that are the product of the True Love and free expression of its human creators. ❤️
More information about this opportunity for creative fellowship will be posted on the site in April 2025.
